actually before here....starting at Spitler Peak (this was May 10, 
1998)...call the U.S. Forest Service in Idyllwild for conditions around San 
Jancinto...have your ice axe ready to be mailed to Warner Springs and if you 
don't need it...forward it to Kennedy Meadows.
