Unsolicited offers for help are sometimes a bit suspect (and probably should
be!)  For any listers who are wondering whether they are OK, let me assure you
that Dan and Sara are certified TA's (that's Trail Angels.)  In '97, Dan
picked up Brian and me at the San Diego bus station and hauled us out to
Campo, accepting only our sincere thanks.  I think we were the 18th and 19th
hikers they had helped get started that year.  They also spotted some much
appreciated water at places along the first sections of the trail, and were on
call for any hikers who needed help in that area.  

Thanks again, Dan & Sara!  We're grateful for your help and pleased that
you'll be there for the '99'ers!
