Well said. That can be true anytime one is alone with oneself for a length of
time. Often we want to fill that space with other things (TV, people, books,
etc.) so that we don't have to face ourselves. (or whatever we're unhappy
about)
This reminds me of the last stanza of "The Invitation" that was posted a while
back. It said:
"It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want
to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want
to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company
you keep in the empty moments. "
