Re: [pct-l] Feet, Percentages, Heat, Etc

Dave,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. It sounds like you learned a great
deal on your first PCT hike - both what worked for you and what did not. I
find the information you shared very helpful in preparing for my PCT hike -
both knowing what the pitfalls could be, and in knowing that if for some
reason I need to stop earlier than planned, I can always come back and try
again another year. Many people have.

I am trying to see this adventure as an experience I will learn and grow from
(as well as enjoy), no matter what the outcome is.

I have continually been considering the footwear necessities - and am having a
hard time choosing shoes in bigger sizes, as they don't fit too well at this
point. (although I'm finding my feet have enlarged from my training hikes
already!) I now have trail shoes that are 1 full size bigger than what I
normally wear, but from what I've been hearing, I probably should have some
even larger ready for when I need them.

Anyway... not too many people have posted to this list about journey's that
ended sooner than planned. Thank you for doing so. Good luck this year.
Maybe we'll meet on the trail.

Tread Gently.
Deb
