Thanks for the post Christine, I appreciate all your botanical info. Please 
accept apologies everyone regarading the well at Kelso!  I re-read my letter 
just now -- it is very confusing because one minute Meadow Ed is talking about 
the PCT and then next a cabin near the trail.  It was in this paragraph that 
he mentioned the well and I jumped the gun and thought he meant Kelso --  I 
believe he meant the cabin --  EGG ON FACE!  I need to call Joe at the PCTA
this week and will find out the status and repost my findings.
