Re: [pct-l] I'll be glad to help.

JoAnn,

It is so kind of you to offer your help and home. Yreka is not necessarily
so far off the PCT since many chose to hike north through Yreka to shortcut
the trail. I did this in 1977. We walked into town and decided to go see
a movie but had no place to stash our packs. We asked the Sheriffs if they
would watch them and they were so nice. They had never heard of the PCT at
that time and were astonded that we had walked so far. They admited that
they thought we were bums when they first saw us! They watched our packs
and told us we could camp in the central park as long as we were up and out
early the next day. We were and enjoyed Yreka. Funny, I can't remember
the movie!
