[pct-l] bag buddies

 Hi all,

 I might be going up the trail this spring/summer with a close friend.
I was wondering if any couples or anyone experienced at sharing
sleeping set-up with another could suggest the right kind of bags that
two could share for the weather/seasons that could also work well
individually.

 Does down get too hot/stuffy when shared? Synthetics?
 
And how can I reinforce a lower quality tent against rough/cold ground
without addng too much weight?
