[pct-l] Bear Canisters

Here goes my ignorance again, but about bear canisters.
OK, So I have my food in this can that the bear can't get into, but what do
I do with it. Sleep with it, hang it from a tree so
the bears can play tether ball with it, carry 20 lbs of chain to anchor it
to a tree, or leave it in my pack for the bear to shred. This sound great
that the bear can't get to my food, but what is to stop him from carrying
it off to ponder how to get into it.
The bear can smell the food inside.
So again, now that I have my $100.00 Bear Canister, what do you do it.
