From what I understand, the May start, is to lessen the severity of snowpack
in California, then it's time to book it, before you reach early winter
conditions in Washington! Theoretically, for a long distance hiker, Jardines
method of time travel works, on paper.
It's the intangibles that make a thru-hike that much more rewarding.
