As long as you are looking at MSR stoves, check out the Dragonfly. I'm not
sure about the range of heat, but it does NOT need traditional priming like
the Whisperlite does. I shared a dragonfly with a friend on a trip last year
and liked the stove, but then our meals didn't require simmering. Ask your
local REI sales associate.
