re: [pct-l] indroductions

What a great idea, sharing some information about yourself. Please keep in
mind
this is only my second letter to the pct list, so I'll try not to bore anyone.
I live north of harrisburg (thats the capitol of penna. as cities go its very
small)
I live on 50 acres on the south side of second mountain. (not quite the
sierras
but still a fine place to live) In 1985 I built my home their, a log cabin
nothing
other then a cabin look right their. My mountain home borders one of the
largest
roadless areas in panna. Lots of wildlife deer, turkey, bears, and all the
other
mountain critters. Several bears make frequent visits to raid my bird feeders
they eat all the bird seed, suet, and in the summer drink the hummingbird food
I don't mind I really enjoy seeing the bears, taking photos, and video taping
them.
I do lots of hiking and cross-country nearby, I've hiked and climbed in the
wind
rivers, did several ski trips in yellowstone, grand teton, and yosemite just
to name
a few things I've done in the last few years.
I also hiked the pacific crest trail in 1977 it took just over 5 months to
complete
Besides all the great scenery, I met some outstanding people hiking the trail,
some I've become good friends with, hiking the pacific crest trail was one of
the
greatest experiences I ever had, a I still plan to do it again some day.
On sept. 1 1997 Jason (my friend) and I started hiking the pacific crest trail
from
yosenite to mt. whitney, and as planned we met Greg (strider) Hummel a 1977
pacific crest trail hiker at thousand island lake we climbed banner peak,
hiked
to reds meadow, and as planned again we met up with yet another 1977 pacific
trail hiker Paul Hacker, we had a great time at reds telling old stories about
the
'77 trek. we left Greg and Paul at reds meadow and Jason & I continued south
on the pacific crest trail, we finished on sept. 16 at mt. whitney
