[pct-l] Neuroma; temporary medical insurance

Tracy Goss, in her book The Last Word on Power, talks about the power of
"inventing an impossible future." It's in that spirit that I'm setting
out to thru-hike the PCT. And, in so doing, I notice a daunting array
of formidable-looking barriers. The latest is that I have developed
what is apparently a neuroma on my left foot. Since I don't have
medical insurance, I'm eager to do what I can to resolve the condition
as much as possible on my own, before seeking help from a orthopedist or
podiatrist. Vonhof's book offers some helpful-sounding advice, but I
wonder if there's anyone out there who's had this condition and resolved
it, with or without medical help.
Also, can anyone recommend a short-term medical insurance plan that one
can enlist for five months?
