[pct-l] Zips

I've decided that regardless of their advisibility, legality, weight advantage,
convenience factor, or anti-fossil fuels implied statement, I will not carry
a Zip stove into the backcountry. It will serve only to remind me of this
forum's headache-ridden byplay, and probably ruin my appetite. Isn't it
interesting that the deeper we penetrate these wildernesses of ours, seeking
out their simpler order and logic perhaps, the more often we end up playing
the role of lawyer, chief justice, social psychologist, and philosopher all
at the same time. This ever-evolving time of increased regulation and
legalistic fine-tuning regarding official policy over "wilderness" is like
building the law of a small nation from scratch, only without the wisdom and
common sense, sometimes, of the founding fathers. If they could only see us
now, splitting hairs over what meaneth "campfire."
