[pct-l] Re: thru hiking



I agree with Brian, mostly. I found determination got me from Mexico to
Canada.  My pack was about 55 pounds on average the whole way, it broke three
times and had to be replaced in Oregon.  Most people I met during the first
two or three months probably thought that I wouldn't make it all the way
because of the weight and my stuborness to lighten it.  Even I thought I would
end up quitting.  I'm not trying to brag, I'm just saying that pack weight and
equipment dosen't really make a difference if hiking from Mexico to Canada (or
just for six months) is what you really want to do.
