Why try to decide which is longer? One Norwegian trail organization
maintain over 10000 miles trail marked about at the AT level (you cant
get lost). It's a "grid" so it probably doesn't count in this
competition, but if you really started searching the world I'm sure you
could find some that qualifies...

Why does the Appalachian Trail Conference still say (in its
brochures,
etc.) that the Appalachian Trail is the world's longest foot
trail?
I just received the latest ATC (1998) brochure with my last
Campmore
order and they still claim this; isn't the Pacific Crest Trail
completely
connected (officially)? I have done all of the AT and I plan on
doing all
the PCT (eventually) and CDT and I know how far the trails are
listed as
and the AT is the underdog in mileage, so what gives?
