Why does the Appalachian Trail Conference still say (in its brochures,
etc.) that the Appalachian Trail is the world's longest foot trail?
I just received the latest ATC (1998) brochure with my last Campmore
order and they still claim this; isn't the Pacific Crest Trail completely
connected (officially)? I have done all of the AT and I plan on doing all
the PCT (eventually) and CDT and I know how far the trails are listed as
and the AT is the underdog in mileage, so what gives?
