I did Stehekin to Stevens Pass last year, it is a wonderful hike.  Almost
any year you will run into snow in later July or early Aug on that stretch,
this year most of the trail will be under snow until late in the summer. 
The snow line in the central Cascades is still below 3000'.  I tried to do
a hike out of Snoqualmie Pass (3000') this past weekend and the trail at
the parking lot was under several feet of snow and disappeared from there. 
Make sure you allow for a few days in Stehekin after your hike.
