[pct-l] Earlier start for Class of 97

I just saw our local news.  Its 96 degrees in Palm Springs and its only
March 10!  It looks like a very long, hot summer is in store. I doubt we're
going to get much more precipitation this year because of the strength of
the high pressure system over the eastern pacific.

So, I'm going out on a limb here, but my personal recommendation to those
planning on a May start is to leave earlier if at all possible.  If it
stays this hot and waterless, there won't be any wildflowers (one of the
glories of the desert environment) by May 1, and the transient water
sources will be dry.
