[pct-l] oh yeah

Those of you that read my CA/OR trip report probably remeber me mentioning
an individual I called "Tim".  His name is BOB WIRTH.  I decided he didn't
really deserve to remain anomnyous since everyone else on or near (Thanks T
& C!!!) the trail this year had dealt with him.


Just in case you missed it, "Tim" in my trip report is BOB WIRTH!
The dude was a damn legend on the trail this year, if he wanted to leave his
mark with people, he sure as hell did.

Sorry if I am unleashing some venom, but several other people (especially
Jack Fair) feel the same...

My favorite Bob Wirth line he actually said to me and was serious:

"Jesus, I don't see why you don't want to come down to Packer Lake with me,
just because of the lodge and car campground?  What are you looking for?  A
'Wilderness Experience'?  If you are looking for a true wilderness
experience go to the Canadian Rockies, cause you are not going to find one
on the Pacific Crest Trail"

or then there was:

"I don't see why they don't just pipe all these damn springs like on the AT,
I can't fit my water bottle in there"

or: 

"You are stupid to walk more than 15 miles (or whatever he was doing that
day) miles a day!  How can you see anything??"

or when Jack Fair asked Bob to leave his house at once, AND BOB WOULD NOT
LEAVE!  (You mean you are going to turn me out in this heat?)  Then Bob
threatened to call the cops cause Jack tried to physically move him from the
home.

I'm sorry if I sound evil, but it takes a person like this to bring this out
in me.  I met several really special people throught the PCT, but I unkind
people do come along once in awhile.


oh well whatever nevermind.
