[pct-l] The Trans PCT Challenge
The Bay Area Ridge trail doesn't get near the PCT. It only gets about as far
east as Mt Diablo. However we discovered the Mokolumne Trail near Orinda
that is supposed to connect to the crest. I am not sure where the connection
is though. I think somewhere between Sonora and Lake Tahoe area.
Another option (that I am sure of) is the American Discovery trail from Pt
Reyes to Squaw Valley. The mountain part of that trail follows the Western
States Trail (or Tevas Trail) from Squaw to Auburn, another foot trail to
Folsom and bike trails from Folsom to Old Sacramento. The ADT follows the
levees from Sacramento to Antioch. The bikes use a different trail to the
west of the Sacramento River.
The problem with these routes is that they are mid-state. Maybe we could
make a figure 8 trail instead?

It could hook in with the Bay Area Ridge Trail (www.ridgetrail.org).
