Let's go further. Start on the CDT and go north to Glacier NP, then west on 
the Pacific NW Trail to the coast, then south on the Coast Trail to the 
border, then east to the PCT and go north to Manning Park.

The truly adventurous could then go east on the Great Discovery/North 
Country trail, turn south on the AT and go all the way to the Everglades and 
the Florida Trail.

That ought to satisfy anybody's lust for long distance hiking.
