[pct-l] PCT Baja to Manning

The Gentleman Hiker (Richard, his last name escapes me right now), hiked multiple times down Baja across the campo.  Doing this hike requires the knowledge of desalinating seawater, and to an extent, knowing which cacti you can get liquid from for survival (and how much you can ingest before it makes you sick).  His accounts of his experiences were extremely interesting, to say the least.

Also, "Lucky" (from Germany) finsihed the PCT and then started south from Mexico all the way thru the Andes.  He generally had outstanding experiences with the people he met, though he was stabbed in the arm by teenage bandits in Columbia, and his stuff was stolen.  He persevered and continued his journey after this happened.  Interestingly, Lucky spoke no Spanish when he started, and his English was decent but limited.  We were able to broker a meeting for him with The Gentleman Hiker, who gave him some knowledge on surviving in the truly desolate, waterless areas he would pass through.  

Beyond a doubt, we do get to meet the most interesting people!
