[pct-l] Scissors Crossing phobia
Alan
I had alway much dreaded this segment and it was the last hunk in my SoCal
Section hike to complete
Until December `05 when I hiked it finally
I started at 7:00 am on the 3rd and came out on S22 on the 4th @ 8:45am
could have made it in one day but planned 2 so I didn't rush it. It was
quite chilly up there in december and kinda wished I'd brought a better
sleeping bag but it was just one night....
N or S direction IMO wouldn't make much of a difference and I made good time
as the trail is relativly easy going.
The `05 data book has the distance at 23.9 miles I made it 23.35. Whats a
few 10th of a mile..... I measured from the center line of SR-78 to the
center line of S22
Just go for it....
worse comes to worse you could bail out @ 13.38 miles and down the firebreak
to S2, just before the water cache @ 13.56 miles. (This is how the water is
hauled in)
