wouldn't it just be easier to have count everyone who went thru the Southern terminus and the Northern Terminus? (and in regards to our faithful flipers, Kenedy Meadows as a middle/end/flipping/begining point.

There is a Yahoo group for the 2005 hikers, but their contacts
are only as comprehensive as, well, their contacts.  

Personal observation:  trying to count finishers is a slippery slope with
big rocks below.
