[pct-l] hitching into/out of Packwood

Hello from a long-time list-lurker and section hiker.

Anyone care to comment on their experience hitching from the pass down to
Packwood, WA and back? It's a pretty long hitch. And a pretty busy highway.
I haven't seen much mention of the side-trip in journals, but one bad
report stands out: Someone who stood at the pass for FOUR hours with a
thumb out and finally gave up as it got dark and was forced to stealth camp
near the ski area.
