[pct-l] Looking for day hikes

If you go to any of the higher altititude trail towns (Wrightwood, Big Bear, Idlywild) you will not be dissappointed.  There are many trails in these towns that intersect the PCT, circumvent mountains, and meander through some really scenic areas.  Other options would be to go to the three major mountains in each of the ranges because there are plenty of hiking around all of these (Mt Baldy, San Gorgonio, San Jacinto).  The PCT goes near all three of these peaks.

If it works out, another trip in future might be more adventuresome with serious camping. The day hikes will be out then turn around and come back (or a circle) as we will only have one car.

I realize this is kind of a broad question but if any specific areas come into people's mind, please let me know.
