[pct-l] Trail Shoes

Hallelujah! I've SEEN The Light!

Yep! I'm currently at about 13-1/2 pounds in base weight with my new
kit! My REI Aconcagua-fanna-far-fanna pack and TNF Slickrock Tent
together are 11 pounds!
That and now I won't have enough room to pack my "fluff-gear", so I'll
be walking light! Next addition: A quilt! My current bag is almost 4
pounds...

But 30 mile days? Hmmmmm.... I dunno about THAT.

Oh, and BTW- a six pack of oilcans??? Two's the limit. And that's only
on short days. But that cool brew at the end of that 1st day's hike is
well worth the weight!

No, that's not the Mike I know. Why a 6 pack of oilers alone would be
over 13 pounds!
The Mike I know was proud that he was carrying too much weight to hike
over 10 miles in a day.
Now WE are going to do some 30's, aren't we, Mike?

As I'm putting together a UL kit, I'm looking for a good replacement for
my hiking boots.
I've been able to drop my base weight from just under 30 pounds (yep- I
wasn't UL by ANY definition!) to just over 13 (woo-hoo!).
So I'm saying adios to my boots for my big mile hikes.
