[pct-l] Amateur Radio on the PCT -- Part 2



Last year was the most techie year yet, but I guess that's no surprise.
Flippy had a handheld that did all you mentioned . . . it was amazing.  He
also doctored-up both the laptops in the guesthouse and got them going on
the wireless connection, for which I am very grateful.

Maidenhead Grid and all that aside...how much does it weigh.  Looks  small 
enough.  Batteries internal?  Take a 12V car battery?   :C)
 
On the same note, while I was in Oregon, Erik D told me that someone was  
hiking with a laptop and satellite link... that he had updated his website
20  
minutes after summiting Whitney.  What's the story on that?
