More interesting than the vaguery of the statement is what it implies.

Here is an organization that has immense resources, made up of pretty smart
people. Making a public statement based on what you do know, is much more
desireable than a statement based on what you think you know.

It's ok to 'not know' something. It's criminal to pretend that you do with a
repsonsibility like theirs.
