[pct-l] GPS Insanity

During my hike last summer from Campo to Cajon Pass, I collected GPS data
points every 5 seconds (chronological) or roughly, every 20 feet. The best
accuracy on the GPS is about 14 feet.

I collected the data using a Garmin eTrex legend. Using a home-brew
application I wrote for my PDA prior to the trip and special serial cable,
every evening I downloaded the data from the eTrex to the SD card on my PDA.
This was roughly 7,000 gps data points daily.

Anyways, I have this insanely detailed map of that section of the PCT. I've
played with the data using gnuPlot in 2D and 3D, but I have no real use for
it. It's kinda the trip souviner from hell. :) If anyone has a use for this
data, I may make it available depending on what it is for, ie, no monetary
gain. If anyone has an idea for displaying the data on a web page, lemme
know. I don't want to recreate the wheel in the sense of making a map that
already exists.

Switchback's GPS thread led me to post this info. It's his fault. :)
