 Planned obsolesence - the dumbest marketing ploy ever.

That's why I LOVED the old aircooled Volkswagens, very few design
changes over the years and most of the changes were actual
improvements, not just cosmetic.  (Things like seatbelts, all wheel
disc brakes, and independent rear suspension).

Back to NB for a second, I'm surprised that I haven't heard anyone
mention the M series? Are they just too expensive for the average
Thru-hiker? They look like just the ticket, but I haven't seen them in
my stores, nor have I heard anyone mention them. Anyone with real
world experience please chime in. Thanks!
