Here are some of my suggestions.
Mt Baden Powell. Named after the founder of scouting
Mt Lowe/Echo Mtn. Famous Pasadena historical area
Mt Wilson - Enjoy the telescope. Entirely hauled up there by mules
Devils Slide (Stage coach trail) - This is near Chatsworth, between LA and
Ventura County. Its how the got the wagon trains over Santa Susan pass.
It's marked with a historical tiled plaque in the side of the mountain.
Santa Monica Mountains/Sycamore Canyon - Backbone trail and lots of history
about the Chumash Indians.

I'm farting around LA now. Is there any must see attractions I got to see
while here? I'm at the Aquarium of the Pacific now. Is there any
mountaineering\skiing museums, gear manufacturing tours, or thur-hiking
shrines?
