[pct-l] New SuperSecret - Phases of the Moon

A cool thing - I like planning hikes around when the full moon will
illuminate the terrain. It also makes it much easier to get up in the
middle of the night to answer various Nature calls. I met a guy climbing UP
the Golden Staircase at about 7:00 p.m. in September, off to shoot full-moon
photos of the Palisades. Must have been gorgeous - but COLD. I was
scampering to Deer Meadow for a lower-elevation camp!

Thank you, Switchback, for your encyclopedic knowledge and web-surfing
assistance -

Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached its top. Then
you will know how low it was.

Once again your buddy Switchback comes through for you. Add this site to
your hike planning. It gives the phases of the moon. This is very cool for
thinking about any late evening hiking or night hiking. I like to hike at
night sometimes. Especially if is hot during the day. With this site you
can plan on how much light you will have. Neat. Just print out the
printable month version for your hike and take it with you for reference.
