Just to confirm that this woman hiker would indeed be irritated by
tobacco-spit on the trail :)  Eeeew!  but I don't want to deprive Switchback
of fun, not at all...besides, the resulting spit might be an effective
mosquito repellent.  It would certainly *be* repellent ;-)....

I prefer Jolly Ranchers, myself, especially the Fire flavor - gum sticks to
my dental work.  And I am *not* encouraging any raffish or otherwise
commentary on Jolly Ranchers, puh-leeze.

Very interesting all the gum responses.  I definitely have to try  this.  I
wish there was a gum that looked like tobacco chew, so you could  spit it
out a
lot like dip.  This would really irritate the women  hikers.  That sounds
like lots of fun.
