ME TO ! gum works great. It sounds like we have many 'diabetic'
hikers. We need a short "diabetic" trek some time. Or at least we need
to meet at the kick-off next year...or trail-fest.

I carry gum. Some of my meds also give me dry mouth and, as you know,
I'm
diabetic as well.
I'm to the point now that I pretty much have to carry gum to hike.

Does anyone have any techniques they use when low on water to make
things a
little more comfortable? I have heard of Indians putting a pebble in
their
mouth.
Thanks. Your hiking buddy, Switchback

Tag Line Note: In Kipling's novel of the same name, Gunga Din was a
water
carrier. Okay, so you already knew that. Sorry.
