[pct-l] salsa

Here is another backpacker meal tip

Dehydrate jars of salsa. Me, I like the hot stuff. Just spread them on the fruit leather trays in a food dehyrator and dry for about 6 hours. Crumble it up. That's it. A large jar of salsa will dry down to a very small amout. Add this to anything that needs a bit of zip on the trail. It rehydrates in about a minute. It can rescue a lot of ramen and rice "meals" Just remember that a tablesppon of the dry stuff is equal to a cup of the rehydrated salsa. It will store in a zip lock bag for a long long time. Home made salsa works as well if the tomatoes are cooked
