[pct-l] Re: pct-l Places to Stay

I third the recommendation of Sisters. In 2003 I hitched to Sisters. The
weekend I was there all motels were sold out for some reason. I went into
the bakery on Main Street owned by Melissa. In an effort to find a place to
stay, I
asked a lovely lady standing by a table if she knew of a motel nearby. My
foot was giving me a lot of troble. She immediately said "Why don't you come
to my place?" Entered Elayne, Mother of Melissa. She took me home with her,
made me dinner, washed and dried my clothes and we chatted till Midnight.
The next morning she fed me breakfast, took me into Eugene to her favorite
shoe store to find me a pair of boots, dropped me off at a suggested place
to get a 20 mile ride back to the trail. The first car that stopped, in
about 15 minutes, gave me a ride back to the trail. It was the first time
the driver had been on this road. So, I can't say enough about Sisters.
Someone had said earlier in the hike that there weren't many Trail Angels in
Oregon and Washington, I have to disagree with that statement.

I forgot to say how I got my ride into Sisters. I met four women day hiking
on the trail. I started talking to them and they offered me a ride into
Sisters. They dropped me off in front of an Outdoor store.

Two Legs welcome back. How was your hike thru Oregon. I answered your e-mail
however, I don't think before you left. Hope to hear from you and your
journey.
