[pct-l] NB thru hiker in 2006
Hey there fellow class of 2006 thru hiker! I hate to answer your questions with a plug, but Yogi has done a nice job of compiling information from former PCT thru hikers on various gear items, strategies, philosophies, etc. In the mean while, visit the pct2006 yahoo group to meet other 2006 hopefuls.
See you out there!
Jenn:)
p.s. when I use trailjournals as a planning resource instead of a "living vicariously" thing - I look at the 2004 journals due to the more normal snow/weather conditions.

Hey all,
My name is Junaid. I'm going to do a NB Thru hike in
2006. My planned itinerary is 90% complete and my 'to
buy' list is being incrementaly shortened. I'm
planning 20-25 mi/day, a rest day every 7th day, and
some longer rest periods in Yosemite, Tahoe, crater
lake and probably a few more places. I'm planning a
mix of mail drops and shop as I go to resupply.
Tentatively leaving campo on April 25, 2006 and I
expect to finish by the 15th of October.
A few questions:
1-I don't have a partner and would like to at least
start the trail with someone. If I don't find a
partner by the day zero party then hopefully I'll find
one there. If there is anyone in a similar position,
let me know.
2-So I have a gear list that is fairly basic and could
probably use a few additions. If any of you would be
willing to share your list, that would be great.
successful thru hiker feedback would be great (what
you took, wish you had brought/left behind, etc).
3-I want to use trail running shoes...any brand/model
that you've loved/hated?
4-I've been reading some Trail Journals... any
suggestions on some that are really good?
Thanks for the help.
