The High Sierra Trail will do this. It is a spectacular trail that easily 
beats the southern half of the JMT in variety of scenery. You could also 
chose to hike other trails, say, over Harrison pass, Avalanche pass and 
Siliman pass. The view from Siliman will give you a breathtaking panoramic 
of the High Sierra from the Palisades to the Western divide. (But the view 
can be enjoyed by a simple hike from Lodgepole too.)
