Hope is between Manning and Vancouver, BC on Canadian Highway 1, about 68 km
west of Manning Park. If he is simply going to the border (or Manning Park
Lodge) and then back, he will never really leave the trail nor need to go to
Hope. The Lodge does have a good restaurant. And, you can get a good night's
sleep and a hot shower.
