Just to let any thru-hikers or section hikers know.... There is no water at the Chihuahua Valley Road Crossing at mile 17.7 of section B of the So Cal PCT. There is no water cache there this year. Also, the guide book says to go up the road a little ways to the large cistern that is there for water. This is also now empty. I do not believe that anyone is living in the house there any more and no one answered when I tried to find out. However, there is abundant good water at Lost Valley Spring with a small stream still running nearby. There is also a very small stream still trickling about 1/2 mile before the road crossing of Chihuahua Valley Road. I will be starting the trail in a little over a week, so I will not be able to put any out this year. Eric Yakel
