The snow cares not about averages or previous years. 

It is wildly unlikely that any year will shadow a previous
year. Predicting the outcome of an arbitrary system is
futile; think lottery.

The only statement one can make about future conditions
are of the form, "There is an N% chance that no snow will
exist on Forester on July 15th."

That's the best the data can do for you.

I'll predict 2006 for you right now. "There is a 50% chance
that you can enter the Sierra's on June 15th next year."
