[pct-l] snake bite

During a walk across mid-America in 2000, camped out
on an abandoned farm site a few miles from Niobrara,
Nebraska, I was awakened at 10:30 PM by a violent
storm. Winds that must have approached one hundred
miles per hour did everything but blow me and my tent
into South Dakota. I was terrified. Time passed as
it does during an earthquake. Eventually, the storm
quieted down, and I may have slept some. In Niobrara
the next morning, I learned from a local fireman that
a tornado had touched down one mile south of me, then
headed west. Within one mile, it dropped a century
old oak tree onto someone's roof, injuring them while
they lay asleep in their own bed.

Who was at higher risk? Was it me? Or them? This
past event continues to help me enjoy my life today.
