[pct-l] priority mail reliability

Priority Mail:

No guaranteed delivery timetable, though usually 2-4 
business days depending on distance/remoteness of delivery 
address. Stores & lodges, etc. with "po box" and "HC" 
addresses often take longer, due to the fact that the 
mailing address is different from your pick-up address, ie 
the store itself. (VVR comes to mind.)

To make sure it gets there:

Double-check the address, include "hold for hiker" and 
"E.D.A" info in bottom-left corner. Package the box 
sturdily. (It's amazing what can happen in transit.) Insure 
the package for $50, which is the uppermost valuation for 
cheapest insurance rate ($1.60 ish). Delivery confirmation 
is included at no extra cost when you ship packages via USPS 
online.

Consider using the new Priority Mail Flat Rate box to save 
on shipping costs.

Oh, and don't use parcel post! (But do use UPS when 
required, eg various locales in Oregon IIRC.)
