[pct-l] Crampons

Nathan Young wrote, "I'm really amazed that anyone would do the sierra section of the PCT any other way than night/early mornings. Aren't there any climbers or backcountry skiers that thru hike? Doesn't anyone think outside of the box anymore?"

I am sure you would find the majority of thru-hikers quite inventive about hiking strategies. In 2004 I had crampons and an ice ax but for the most part they were feel-good pieces of equipment and not required. I loved hiking the High Sierra during the day, under the high elevation sunshine and watched the changing scenery and daylight as I marched along. Buzz
