[pct-l] Re: condensation on inside of homemade tarptent

I own and often use a tarp tent.
The first time I used it, camping in a sandy, open
spot (Pate Valley) I was appaulled that though there
was no dew, the inside of my tent was saturated and
any movement or touching sent torrents running down
the sides.
Since then (I contacted the maker) I've pitched the
tent in forest, under trees or bushes so that it
wasn't exposed to the cold night sky. I also keep the
netting open if there are no mosquitos. I've had no
problems since.

I'm worried that should I get into a storm that lasts
more than a day I might get more wet from the inside.
I know that many through hikers have used tarp tents
and would like to hear more about their experiences.
