[pct-l] reunion/trail magic idea

Hey everyone -- I'd like to get a feel for who'd be
interested in taking over one of the picinic tables
and barbeque pits at Echo Lake, possibly on the July 4
weekend, to serve as a hiker pitstop/trail magic
center/PCT alumni reunion location/etc.

I've thought of doing something at Barker Pass in the
past, but even though it has a table, lawn area, and
restroom, as well as parking, it's not really a place
hikers would congregate or linger.  The best I've
managed to disperse some magic is leaving some sodas
in a cooler at the trailhead with Meadow Mary.

Echo Lake seems like a great spot for that, as it's a
post office and store, so hikers will naturally hang
out there for a while before heading on to Lake Aloha
or in to South Tahoe.

Questions:
1.  Would this be a good place to draw
hikers/friends/family, or would they just power on in
to South Tahoe?
2.  Would this be interesting for non-2005 hikers
(i.e., past hikers)?
3.  Anybody from the class of 2002 feel like showing
up?

I'm not set on the exact weekend.  That would be
determined by the snow, interest, scheduling, hiker
traffic, etc.
