Hi all.
I just got my papers back from Canada. On them, they explain once and
for all the papers that they want/need. Verbatim (including spelling
errors):
"Identification: Persons entering Canada are required to carry proper
identification. If you are a US citizen, you do not require a passport
to enter Canada and the following forms of I.D. are acceptable to Canada
Immigration:
Primary Identification (stands alone)
- Birth Certificate
- Drivers Licence
- Armed forces ID
Secondary I.D. (may be used to support Primary ID)
- Student Card
- Social Security Card
If you are a temporary resident of the US or a visitor from any other
country, you will require a passport. You should contact Canada
Immigration to find out if you will require a visa. They may be reached
at 1-888-242-2100. You must report immediately to the nearest
Immigration office.
Note: A passport is always acceptable as ID and is the optimum for
Immigration purposes."
So, there you have it.
