If you wear gortex trail running shoes.  Keep this in mind.  They are great in light rain.  If it's pouring and you go through puddles or streams, the shoes fill up with water and they will not dry out.
 
Trust me I know!!!  You should use a gortex gaiter if you use a gortex trail running shoe.
