Also good to know:

If there's no water at 3rd gate, there's a trail that leads off the PCT
a few steps north of the gate heading east, down into the little valley
below (there's a small, weather-faded wood sign that says "water").
There's a small ranch down there, one of the ranch houses has a hose
bib...
Maybe a 3 mile, at most, hike down to the ranch house. Yeah, it's a 6
mile round trip from 3rd gate, but if it's hot and dry in the San
Felipes, and there's no water cached....

Gate #3. San Filipe Hills between Scissors Crossing and Barrel Springs.

Charlie says there's a few gallons up there right now.  April 8th is the
first scheduled restock aided by a couple of guys hiking on the 12th,
but maybe we can run some up before that.
